Pampas, Peaks & Vines: A Luxury Honeymoon in Argentina
Argentina was where our story began, and few places rival its drama, scale and romance. This honeymoon journey is a distillation of our deepest expertise – thirteen nights that capture the country at its most exhilarating.
Wander the stately boulevards of Buenos Aires, ride across the Pampas with gauchos, sip wines from Mendoza’s most celebrated cellars and stand before Patagonia’s formidable glaciers. Along the way, stay in places we love – small, storied, and steeped in their surroundings, shaped as much by the landscape as the people behind them.
Every adventure we design is entirely bespoke, shaped around your story as a couple; consider this itinerary as merely a starting point to inspire your travels.

DAYS 1 & 2: THE PAMPAS
“When I opened the windows to let the country come in, The pampa, the entire pampa was nothing but horizon” – Olivero Girondo
Upon arrival in Buenos Aires, venture two hours west to the Pampas – Argentina’s famous gaucho heartland, a vast expanse of grassland inhabited mainly by cattle, horses, and the expert horsemen who tend to them.
Your honeymoon begins at Estancia La Bandada, a traditional colonial-style estancia deep in the pampas, owned by local artist Sebastián Goñi. The main house has been beautifully restored, and is set within a large wooded park on 250 acres of pastureland.
Spend your days here riding through the plains, exploring by bicycle, or trying your hand at Argentine polo with a lesson from a professional. Learn to make empanadas and buñuelos in the kitchen, pick fresh produce from the orchard, or cool off in the pool with birdsong for company.
At mealtimes, join your fellow guests in the garden to share travel stories over a family-style dinner or an asado – an Argentine traditional barbecue – in the shade of a huge old oak tree.

DAYS 3-6: PATAGONIA
Leave the Pampas behind and head deep into the mountains of Southern Patagonia for Aguas Arriba, one of El Chaltén’s remotest mountain lodges. Set on the shores of Lago Desierto overlooking the surrounding mountains and the Vespignani Glacier, it is only reachable by boat or a three-hour hike. Built from wood and stone, with just five rooms, the lodge is rustic yet luxurious, and guests here are welcomed like old friends.
This part of Patagonia offers some of the region’s wildest landscapes and most rewarding treks, and receives far fewer visitors than Chile’s fabled Torres del Paine; here, it’s all about space, solitude and nature.
Hike through lenga forests and glacial valleys to Laguna de los Tres for a close-up view of Mount Fitz Roy’s famous spires. Explore Lago del Desierto by kayak, fly fish in the crystalline waters of Las Vueltas River, or set out into the mountains on horseback with a guide.
Back at the lodge, take in the views from the deck with a sundowner, ease tired muscles with a massage or yoga session, or settle in by the fire with a good book. In the evenings, gather with the resident guide over a glass of wine to plan the next day’s adventures.

DAYS 7-9: BUENOS AIRES
A short flight delivers you back to Buenos Aires. The home of tango, the world’s finest polo and a booming art and restaurant scene, the Argentine capital is glamorous and sophisticated, cool and progressive – yet also traditional and conservative.
Here, you’ll be staying at Palacio Duhau, a neoclassical mansion on the grandest avenue of the city’s Recoleta’s neighbourhood. Opened in 2006, with marble floors, crystal chandeliers and intricately-carved seventeenth-century oak panelling, it’s a place of quiet opulence; F Scott Fitzgerald himself would have approved.
Spend your first day yourself acquainting yourself with the city’s diverse neighbourhoods. Stroll through the faded glamour of San Telmo, through the grand architecture and historic landmarks of downtown, and visit Recoleta Cemetery, where ornate mausoleums house the country’s most storied figures – most notably, Eva Peron. An expert local guide will bring the city to life, regaling tales of its history, politics and art. The next day, explore the capital under your own steam; our concierge is on hand 24/7 should you like any recommendations.
Come evening, make for the buzzy restaurants and cocktail bars of Palermo. We know the dining scene intimately and will point you in the direction of the city’s best tables. Save your last night for a milonga – an Argentine tango club – where an instructor will show you the steps before you take to the floor with the Porteño locals.

DAYS 10-13: MENDOZA
Your final stop comes in the form of Mendoza, land of world-class vineyards. Settle in amidst the vines at one of our favourite properties, Casa de Uco, which occupies perhaps the most enviable site in all Mendoza.
Wine is at the heart of life here. Explore the Uco Valley’s small-production wineries and boutique vineyards with a private guide, hearing stories about the terroir and the vintners’ philosophy behind each bottle. Malbec reigns supreme, but there’s also an impressive range of other varietals.
Away from Mendoza’s cellars, there’s plenty more to do: ride through the vineyards on horseback; hike into the Andean foothills at sunrise; even, thrillingly, white-water rafting on the Mendoza river. Wine aficionados can venture further afield to the bodegas of the Lujan de Cuyo Valley. Back at Casa de Uco, a romantic picnic amongst the vines or candlelit dinner makes for a fitting final flourish to this, the last chapter of your Argentine adventure.
