A LUXURY VACATION TO COSTA RICA
A tropical corridor between the Pacific Ocean and the Caribbean Sea, Costa Rica presents a landscape of rainforest, soaring volcanoes, lava fields, hot springs, rich pastureland and pristine coastline.
Famed for its invigorating pura vida lifestyle and commitment to sustainability, it’s one of our favourite destinations for luxury family vacations, sabbaticals and adventure travel – whether horse riding, surfing, hiking, rafting, or kayaking.
We have explored every inch of the country, and love to share our secrets. Our deep network of local contacts and intimate, characterful properties, built up over decades, will take you beyond the guidebooks to experience the real Costa Rica.

WHAT TO SEE & DO IN COSTA RICA
With an impressive thirty national parks and over a quarter of the country under conservation, Costa Rica is one of the most biodiverse countries on the planet.
Hike or raft through jungles that thrum with wildlife, including sloths, jaguars, tapirs, toucans, macaws, turtles, howler monkeys and manatees, staying at luxurious eco-lodges tucked deep in the rainforest.
Heading to the coast, it’s a paradise for surfers and those seeking a more laid-back pace of life, with beach towns scattered along the edge of the ocean and some of the world’s best breaks. Don’t miss whale season on the Osa Peninsula, from August through October, and remember to ask about our connections with working haciendas and estates.
Our adventures to Costa Rica are completely bespoke – whether you prefer an all-guns-blazing adventure or a more relaxed pace, we’ll tailor your journey from the ground up to suit your interests and travel style.

HIGHLIGHTS OF COSTA RICAN CULTURE
Select a Sense
Costa Rican cuisine is built on fresh, tropical flavors with rice and beans at its core. Gallo Pinto, a staple breakfast dish, gets its signature taste from salsa Lizano, a tangy sauce similar to Worcestershire. Coastal regions serve up abundant seafood, while market stalls pile high with mangoes, pineapples, and papayas. To drink, try horchata, a spiced, milky blend, or a chilled refresco, made with fresh tropical fruit.
Costa Rica’s marimba provides the backbone for many traditional tunes. Calypso rhythms reflect the Afro-Caribbean influences, especially on the Caribbean coast.
A Borucan mask, salsa lizano, Chonete hats, local coffee and artisanal chocolate.
