Hike the Chapada Diamantina

Venture into the diverse terrains of Chapada Diamantina. Navigate the expansive plateaus of this rugged Bahían National Park, descend into its intricate canyons, and cool off in the waterfalls scattered about the landscape. Hike the Arenal Volcano

Adventure through one of Costa Rica’s most iconic landscapes. The trails around this active volcano are varied, leading through lush rainforest to old lava fields. Along the way, rich biodiversity captivates. The main path extends over 1.3 kilometres, with a side trail detouring through dense woodland. The thick forest canopy is delightfully shady. Hiking, canyoning, waterfall rappelling, and visits to the hot springs are also on offer around the Arenal Volcano National Park.

Skydive into the Great Blue Hole

Take to the skies to explore the Great Blue Hole, one of the world’s largest marine sinkholes, reaching depths of 125m and widths of over 300m. The free-fall descent is regarded as one of the more extraordinary skydives in the world, providing a bird’s-eye view of the deep azure chasm. The Great Blue Hole sits within the expansive Belize Barrier Reef, 70 km offshore. The jump requires a water landing, but tandem jumps can be organised with no prior experience.

Navigating the overland route to Muzo is like journeying through time, leading adventurers along cliffside pathways into a lush, ancient realm. While the region boasts rich iron deposits, it’s globally celebrated for its emeralds, unmatched in their clarity, crystallisation, and brilliance. Deep within pits, gems like the 15,000-carat Fura and the luminous Tena, once owned by Empress Catherine the Great, have been found. Dominated by the peaks of Tena and Fura, the sacred Muzo landscape stands as a testament to its ancient inhabitants’ reverence. Portillo offers some of the best terrain from July to September. Unpredictable weather means the season’s actual dates are subject to change.
