A Luxury Vacation to Patagonia

The provinces of Neuquén and Río Negro, in northern Patagonia, boast a wild and rugged landscape of diaphanous lakes, Andean peaks and luxuriant forests and meadows.

While there are plenty of opportunities for eating well and relaxing with a good book, the focus in Patagonia is on outdoor pursuits. Every mountain, stretch of grassland, river and lake appears to have been created to fulfil the dreams of riders, fishermen and walkers. Patagonia is a byword for remote adventure and the ultimate luxury vacation destination.

Northern Patagonia’s fly-fishing for rainbow and brown trout is among the finest and most picturesque in the world. The region also boasts two of the continent’s best golf courses and wonderful opportunities for bird-watchers. Come winter (July through September), Bariloche and San Martin de Los Andes offer spectacular skiing.

TRAVELLING NORTHERN PATAGONIA

For the adventurous-minded, northern Patagonia’s lakes and rivers provide incredible opportunities for rafting and kayaking amidst some of the world’s most pristine scenery.

We have selected some incredibly spoiling places to stay, from luxury lakeside hideaways to cosy cabins and remote fishing lodges.

Those who enjoy adventures on horseback can stay on a working estancia, setting out each morning with the gauchos to herd cattle, stopping for lunches of prime beef or fresh trout, before enjoying a siesta in the shade or a dip in the river.
