Estancia Los Potreros, Argentina | Plan South America

Argentina I Cordoba I Estancia I Property

Estancia Los Potreros is a 6,000 acre working cattle farm that has been in the same family for four generations. With over 50 horses and countless riding trails on its doorstep, the estancia caters for both beginners and experienced riders.

What we love about Estancia Los Potreros

  • The six simple, yet extremely comfortable rooms. You’ll find exposed wooden beams, antique art, local textiles, and cosy fireplaces
  • Located in the Sierras Chicas hills between the Andes and the Pampas, the views are spectacular
  • The food; expect traditional, hearty Argentine meals
  • The Anglo-Argentine family history
  • The evenings – enjoy candle-lit meals with like-minded guests at Los Potreros

What to do at Estancia Los Potreros?

It’s all about horses at Estancia Los Potreros. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced rider, head out with one of the estancia’s gauchos, and take in the incredible scenery around you. The horses are all extremely well-looked after, and of good temperament. Polo lessons are also on offer.

Be sure to get involved with the farm work at Los Potreros, including herding cattle and feeding the foals. We can arrange visits to some of our favourite nearby wineries, as well as bird-watching with an expert guide.

Map & location

Estancia Los Potreros is located to the north-west of Cordoba, just an hour from the international airport.

There are direct flights from a number of locations within Argentina, including Buenos Aires, Iguazu Mendoza, and Salta.

Estancia Los Potreros can be visited year-round. We would recommend spring (October and November) and autumn (March and April) as the best times to visit, as the summer months (January and February) can be extremely hot and humid. Winter (July  and August) is also a good time to visit, as the weather is dry and mild, and temperatures during the day are around 18°C.
