Exuberant wildlife, volcanic rock formations and sparkling white sand bays await on a small group holiday to the Galapagos Islands. Living aboard the Galapagos Elite, a sleek, spacious twin-hulled catamaran, we’ll spend seven nights cruising between the unique islands of this enchanted archipelago. Along the way, stop off to snorkel amongst tropical fish, hike to panoramic viewpoints and kayak past lively colonies of sea lions. All the while, we’ll be in the company of naturalist guides who know the islands and their theatre of wildlife inside out.
As the islands were completely isolated for so long, many species are curious and playful toward humans. At the Charles Darwin Research Centre, get up close to boulder-like giant tortoises. Off the shore of secluded bays, snorkel with hammerhead sharks, turtles and rays. Then visit vast colonies of blue-footed boobies and nesting albatrosses before spotting sun-baked marine iguanas and brilliantly hued Sally Lightfoot crabs on dark rocks.
The twisted volcanic landscapes shelter many surprises. Water explodes skyward from marine geysers. Craters formed by collapsed lava chambers offer expansive views over the Pacific Ocean and neighbouring islands. Nature trails lead to tidal lagoons, tangled mangroves and misty highlands lush with ferns and Scalesia trees.
