What to do at Stella Maris

Snorkel beside sea lions in the morning. Hike lava fields in the afternoon. Spend your evening aboard the Stella Maris recounting the day’s adventure.

Regardless of which itinerary you choose, each day on the Stella Maris brings a new thrill. An on-board naturalist guide with over 20 years of experience is there to ensure that your off-board adventures are exhilarating and educational by equal measure.

Over the course of eight days, you’ll discover the riveting magic of the Galapagos Islands with Stella Maris as your mobile refuge. Below clear waters, witness colourful shows of tropical fish while curious sea lions greet you during snorkel expeditions.

Above the water line, passengers will visit the natural monument of Kicker Rock, also known as Leon Dormido (“Sleeping Lion”), whose pair of vertical rock formations emerge from the sea at 500 feet tall, creating a narrow channel navigable by smaller vessels.

On land, passengers will hike the lava fields and highlands of Bartolomé Island. Beaches there are primed for more swimming and snorkeling. Opportunities to relax on the white sands of Española Island and Punta Cormorant yield exclusive bird watching opportunities only found in the Galapagos.

When to Travel

The Galapagos Islands can be visited year-round. Winter is May to November when temperatures are lower and the seas are a little rougher. Summer is December to April, and the odd downpour is to be expected. The sun is always strong due to the islands’ position on the Equator. Visibility is the same year-round, as are the quantity and variety of animals.
