Estancia Los Potreros

Cordoba, Argentina
Estancia Los Potreros

Estancia Los Potreros is a 6,000 acre working cattle farm that has been in the same family for four generations.

With over 50 horses and a network of scenic trails right on its doorstep, Estancia Los Potreros welcomes both beginners and experienced riders to explore the rolling hills of Córdoba on horseback.

Days here unfold at an unhurried pace. Ride through open pastures, walk among wildflowers, or simply watch the gauchos at work. Between adventures, relax with a glass of local wine and enjoy authentic, farm-to-table meals served outdoors, surrounded by the sights and sounds of the Argentine countryside.

What we love about Potreros

  • The six simple, yet extremely comfortable rooms. You’ll find exposed wooden beams, antique art, local textiles, and cosy fireplaces
  • Located in the Sierras Chicas hills between the Andes and the Pampas, the views are spectacular
  • The food; expect traditional, hearty Argentine meals
  • The Anglo-Argentine family history
  • The evenings – enjoy candle-lit meals with like-minded guests at Los Potreros
What to do at Estancia Los Potreros

Be sure to get involved with the farm work at Los Potreros, including herding cattle and feeding the foals.

It’s all about horses at Estancia Los Potreros. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced rider, head out with one of the estancia’s gauchos, and take in the incredible scenery around you. The horses are all extremely well-looked after, and of good temperament. Polo lessons are also on offer.

We can arrange visits to some of our favourite nearby wineries, as well as bird-watching with an expert guide.

Estancia Los Potreros

Estancia Los Potreros is located to the north-west of Cordoba, just an hour from the international airport.

There are direct flights from a number of locations within Argentina, including Buenos AiresIguazu Mendoza, and Salta.

When to Travel

Estancia Los Potreros can be visited year-round. We would recommend spring (October and November) and autumn (March and April) as the best times to visit, as the summer months (January and February) can be extremely hot and humid. Winter (July  and August) is also a good time to visit, as the weather is dry and mild, and temperatures during the day are around 18°C.
