Originally conceived as the owner’s residence, Casa Cavada sits alone on a cliff above the Pacific. Designed by Hart Howerton, its enormous undulating roof – inspired by a manta ray or frigate bird in flight – is held aloft by eucalyptus trunks above triple-height living spaces that open onto to the sea. Beyond is a huge infinity pool, gardens and a private beach.
The house sleeps eight and has a full staff. Days can involve fishing in the Gulf of Chiriquí, diving and snorkelling, kayaking, paddleboarding, e-foiling or heading off with a picnic to one of the archipelago’s undeveloped islands.

Those looking for a bit more adventure can head out on a marine safari or book a scuba diving excursion through the Activities Center. Return to Casa Cavada for a quick golf buggy ride to the main hub of Islas Secas for a fresh seafood dinner.
Casa Cavada is located in the Islas Secas archipelago off the coast of Panama. To reach this private island resort, you can fly into Panama City’s Tocumen International Airport. From there, a private charter flight takes you to the nearby town of David, followed by a scenic boat transfer to Islas Secas.
