Discover the hidden beauty of Colombia at Savanna Lodge–from its wildlife and horizons, to its food and its people.
Off the beaten path, Savanna Lodge offers a richly rewarding Colombian experience not encountered by most visitors. You’ll wake each morning to a nearby chorus of parrots and toucans before starting the day with a strong cup of freshly brewed local coffee and a rainbow of native fruit.
Should you choose to forgo a relaxed day by the pool, there are plenty of opportunities to dive deep into the landscapes of Casanare. Explore tropical trails by foot or by saddle, spotting the unique universe of the region’s birdlife along the way.
Spend a day on the shores of the Cravo Sur river, where staff members will take you on a fishing expedition or a tranquil bongo canoe ride. In the afternoon, chase the sunset from midair on an aerial trike excursion. Unpack the day at a starlit beach bonfire, accompanied by local music and dance.
When to Travel
Savanna Orinoquía Lodge is a year-round destination, but we would recommend visiting during the region’s summer season (December – April) for the driest weather, optimal for bonfires on the beach and aerial plains safaris.
