A LUXURY VACATION TO THE NAZCA LINES & PARACAS
To the south of Lima stretches the rugged coastline of Paracas and the Nazca Lines.
Made up of some 800 straight lines, 300 geometric figures and 70 animal and plant drawings, the Nazca Lines, visible only from the air, are one of the most beguiling mysteries left by the ancient civilisations of Peru.
Situated 400km south of Lima, the high, windless plateau of the Nazca Desert is home to vast 2,000-year-old geoglyphs. The giant runways and pictographs – a monkey, a shark, a condor, a spider – measuring as much as 200 metres across have been etched in the desert and are only appreciated from above. Needless to say, we have just the pilot.

WHAT TO SEE AND DO AT THE NAZCA LINES AND BALLESTAS ISLANDS
To fully appreciate their scale, we organise overflights with an archaeologist guide.
Nearby, the Ballestas Islands are a protected area rich with bird and marine life where one can see many different species of birds, sea lions and penguins.
The coastline enjoys a dry climate and is a great place to spend some time relaxing after exploring the highland areas during a luxury Peru tour.
