Delfin I

LUXURY AMAZON CRUISES
WELCOME TO DELFIN AMAZON CRUISES

Cruise the Upper Peruvian Amazon on one of Delfin’s three luxury riverboats – our favourite is the Delfin I, the smallest and most exclusive of the three.

Delfin I is perfect for an intimate rainforest experience and can be chartered exclusively by families or groups of friends, or booked by suite. She has four spacious luxury suites, each with private panoramic terraces, and the two Master Suites also feature a cold-water whirlpool. The signature floor-to-ceiling windows mean there’s no separation between you and the river, and service is discreet but exacting.

Upstairs, the open-air lounge area, bar and library provide a front-row seat to the rainforest, teeming with wildlife.

What we love about Delfin I

  • The spaciousness of the four luxurious suites, each with their own private deck
  • The floor-to-ceiling windows, meaning that wildlife sightings are rarely missed
  • The food, always incorporating local flavours and delicacies
  • The guides and their ability to spot wildlife from afar
  • The viewing deck, the ideal spot to admire your surroundings
What to do in the Peruvian Amazon

Explore your adventurous side aboard the Delfin I as you venture deep into the quiet backwaters of the Amazon.

Stepping off the boat, kayak through still lagoons or along tangled tributaries, the occasional Amazonian pink river dolphin surfacing beside you. Dawn hikes in the Pacaya Samiria Reserve reveal the rainforest at its most alive, with jaguar tracks, sloths dangling from branches and macaws streaking across the sky. Fish for piranha, mighty peacock bass and gigantic Amazon catfish, releasing them back into the wild afterwards.

After sundown, brave travellers can experience a very different side of the jungle on a night safari to spot black caimans, bats flitting through the darkness, and the Amazon’s other rarely-seen nocturnal creatures.

When to Travel

The weather in the Peruvian Amazon is hot and humid.

The “High Water” season, between December and May, sees slightly cooler temperatures, but more rain. Fewer trails are able to be walked during these months, but higher river levels mean that more areas can be accessed by boat.

The “Low Water” season, between June and November, is when more hiking can take place, and you are more likely to see migratory birds flying over the jungle.
