WELCOME TO THE IGUAÇU FALLS

Set in subtropical rainforest, the Iguaçu Falls, meaning ‘Big Water’ in Guarani, straddle the border between Argentina, Brazil and Paraguay.

This magnificent waterfall system, one of the largest in the world, consists of hundreds of cascades that plunge into the Iguaçu River, creating a panorama of roaring water and misty rainbows. Surrounded by the lush Atlantic rainforest and teeming with diverse wildlife, the falls offer a multitude of vantage points from the Brazilian side, each providing a unique and awe-inspiring view. Whether witnessing the thunderous ‘Devil’s Throat’ or exploring the surrounding trails and boat rides, a visit to the Iguaçu Falls is an unforgettable experience, showcasing the raw majesty of one of the planet’s most spectacular natural wonders.

TRAVELLING DEEPER

Those on short stays should stay in the National Park with sensational views of Iguaçu Falls, while our favourite jungle lodge is a better bet for those who want to stay longer.

We suggest allowing at least one full day to explore both sides of the Falls. While it is impossible to avoid the crowds altogether, we recommend hitting the walkways on the Argentine side as early as possible – usually around 8 am – leaving the afternoon free to explore by boat and helicopter.
