A rare oasis of calm in the lush greenery of São Paulo’s Burle Marx Park.
Set in south-west São Paulo, Palácio Tangará feels set apart from the city from the moment you arrive. Housed in a stately white palace within the 26-acre Burle Marx Park, originally built as a mansion for a playboy millionaire, it offers space, light and quiet – a rare luxury in one of Latin America’s busiest cities.
Trees frame Michelin-star dining, indoor and outdoor pools, a world-class spa, and generous rooms with floor-to-ceiling views over the park. It makes for an idyllic pause between time exploring the city’s galleries, restaurants and neighbourhoods.
What we love about Palácio Tangará
- The setting within Burle Marx Park, one of the city’s most significant green spaces, designed by Roberto Burle Marx.
- Its 141 decadently spacious rooms and suites all face towards the park, with forest views and morning birdsong.
- The hotel is filled with contemporary South American artworks and installations, including pieces by Laura Vinci, Fernando Arias and Claudia Melli.
- The Michelin-starred Tangará Jean-Georges restaurant – the chef’s only address in South America.
- Two pools (indoor and outdoor) and top-of-the-range Lancôme Absolue Spa cover all your pampering needs.
Palácio Tangará works beautifully as a counterpoint to São Paulo’s busy urban rhythms.
Mornings might begin with a dip in the outdoor pool, a quiet coffee at Pateo do Palácio, or a walk through Burle Marxe Park.
From there, head out towards Jardins and Pinheiros, where many of São Paulo’s galleries, design studios and independent boutiques are clustered, alongside some of the city’s most interesting restaurants. We can point guests towards exhibitions, openings and the best tables.
Return in the late afternoon for a treatment at the spa, a drink on the terrace, or a few hours by the pool before dinner at Tangará Jean-Georges.
When to Travel
São Paulo is a year-round city, with warm, humid summers (November to March) and milder, drier winters (June to September). For pleasant weather and fewer crowds, travel between March – May or September – November.
The surrounding Burle Marx Park remains green throughout the year, and is at its most striking just after the summer rains.
