WELCOME TO HOTEL HARE UTA
Polynesian soul, pared-back luxury.
With just nine rooms spread across three traditional hares, low, open-plan houses linked by wooden walkways, Hare Uta feels more like a private residence than a hotel. Designed to echo the island’s ancestral architecture, the lodge blends simple modern comforts with Polynesian warmth.
Interiors are all wood and stone, bathed in natural light, and surrounded by gardens. The heart of the property, the motu umanga, houses a volcanic-stone solarium, massage room, restaurant and bar. Here, guests gather after long, dusty days to share stories over local fish and garden-grown vegetables, just a short drive from the mysteries of the moai.

What to do at Hotel Hare Uta
From Hare Uta, Easter Island unfurls slowly.
Join guided excursions to the Rano Raraku quarry and the great stone platforms of Ahu Tongariki, or hike alone to windswept craters and ancient petroglyphs.
Return to the hotel for a swim, a garden-side siesta or a massage using local volcanic stones. The town of Hanga Roa is also nearby. Walk in for handicrafts, sea views and a taste of Rapa Nui culture. Or do nothing at all. Some days, this is the place for just that.
