There’s plenty to explore within the majestic and thriving ecosystem at Hacienda El Triunfo.
If staying on the grounds, drop your bags at Campamento Cural, an old cowboy outpost that’s been adapted to lodge research expeditions. Greet your local guide and on-site cook before heading out to spot the reserve’s diverse terrestrial and avian creatures. For a more lavish stay, check-in at Posada Las Trampas in the charming and colorful town of Honda. Enjoy views of colonial cobblestone streets from your private balcony before heading over to El Triunfo — just a ten minute ride from the hotel.
Take a 3-6 hour guided horseback ride through the scenic mountains and lush valleys of the Hacienda, teeming with wildlife and vegetation. Go on a birding expedition and learn about El Triunfo’s many research and conservation projects, carried out in partnership with institutes from around the globe.
When to Travel
Hacienda El Triunfo is a year-round destination, although we would recommend avoiding a visit during Colombia’s rainy seasons (April – May & October – November). Look toward December and March and July and August for the driest weather.
