El Monte, Argentina | Plan South America

Argentina I Property I Sporting

Nestled between the hills of Cordoba and the valley of San Luis, El Monte Lodge offers some of the finest shooting in Argentina alongside impeccable, dedicated service.

What we love about El Monte

  • The family-run lodge provides a relaxed, warm retreat after a full day of shooting
  • Originally built by British railroad engineers, the renovated lodge feels like an English country home
  • Each of the six bedrooms has a private bathroom making it ideal for a small group of friends
  • El Monte’s hunting area covers more than 89,000 acres of private property
  • Free range hunts take place on 83,000 acres
  • Daily shoots take guests through woods, across green plains and over hills
  • The lodge specialises in high volume pass-shooting for doves
  • Each hunting day is tailored to the group and based on the most recent scouting report
  • They also organise decoyed pigeon hunts, pass-shooting pigeons and Perdiz shoots

What to do at El Monte Lodge?

Each day of shooting at El Monte is both unique and spectacular.

Spend your days surrounded by hills, valleys and forests on high-volume dove shoots and pigeon hunts. Break up the day with a traditional asado lunch served in the field, followed by a quick siesta!

For those not interested in wingshooting, there’s plenty of other activities. Horse ride, hike or mountain bike through the breathtaking Comechingones mountains. Visit local silversmiths, artisans and weavers in nearby Villa de Merlo or indulge in a long lunch accompanied by local Argentine wines. There’s also an olive oil farm near to the lodge that offers tours and tastings.

Back at the lodge, gather together in the garden for a sundowner or put your legs up by the fire with a glass of Malbec.
