What we love about Delfin III

  • The generous space of the Owner’s Suite, on the second deck, with its stand-out views.
  • The use of floor-to-ceiling windows, so wildlife sightings aren’t missed, even when relaxing in your Suite, or working out in the gym.
  • The food, always incorporates local flavours and delicacies.
  • The guides with their expert knowledge and sensory awareness of the fauna and flora.
  • The viewing deck, with indoor and outdoor lounge, the ideal spot to admire your surroundings while enjoying a Pisco Sour.
  • The plunge pool on the sun deck the front of the boat, ideal for cooling off on a hot Amazonian afternoon
What to do in the Peruvian Amazon

Explore your adventurous side aboard the Delfin III as you venture deep into the quiet backwaters of the Amazon.

Stepping off the boat, kayak through still lagoons or along tangled tributaries, the occasional Amazonian pink river dolphin surfacing beside you. Dawn hikes in the Pacaya Samiria Reserve reveal the rainforest at its most alive, with jaguar tracks, sloths dangling from branches and macaws streaking across the sky. Fish for piranha, mighty peacock bass and gigantic Amazon catfish, releasing them back into the wild afterwards.

After sundown, brave travellers can experience a very different side of the jungle on a night safari to spot black caimans, bats flitting through the darkness, and the Amazon’s other rarely-seen nocturnal creatures.

Peruvian Amazon

Fly from Lima to Iquitos (there are direct daily flights) where you will be transferred to Nauta, the private port from where Delfin I departs. On certain days of the week, Iquitos can also be reached directly from Cusco.

You will spend your time onboard Delfin I exploring the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve, which is the size of New Jersey.

When to travel

The weather in the Peruvian Amazon is hot and humid.

The “High Water” season, between December and May, sees slightly cooler temperatures, but more rain. Fewer trails are able to be walked during these months, but higher river levels mean that more areas can be accessed by boat.

The “Low Water” season, between June and November, is when more hiking can take place, and you are more likely to see migratory birds flying over the jungle.
