What to do at Copal Tree Lodge?

We suggest our clients spend three or four nights at Copal Tree Lodge.

The lodge has a number of onsite activities, including visiting their organic farm, kayaking down the Rio Grande, bird watching, mountain biking, and hiking. Further afield, guests are able to visit nearby Mayan sites, explore Punta Gorda town and market, and swim in nearby caves and waterfalls, to name just a few.

Guests are able to enjoy the Jungle Spa on a free morning, or after a busy day of exploring. Yoga is available on a deck above the treetops, offering incredible views of the jungle.

Map & location

Copal Tree Lodge is located just a 15-minute drive from Punta Gorda Airstip.

There are direct flights from Belize City to Punta Gorda and the flying time is approximately an hour. The planes seat just 14 passengers, so the flight in itself is an adventure.

When to Travel

The climate is tropical in Punta Gorda and rain is to be expected at any time of the year. We would recommend visiting Copal Tree Lodge during Belize’s dry season, which is between December and April, to avoid the heaviest downpours.
