Casana

WELCOME TO CASANA

Set just steps from the sands of Preá, Casana is a tiny, laid-back beach hotel and kite-surfing paradise in windswept northeast Brazil.

Nine sleek bungalows stand between white dunes and sparkling lagoons, with thatched roofs, ultra-contemporary open-air living spaces, and an infinity pool positioned towards the sea.

The coastline draws kite surfers from around the world, and Casana was designed with life on the water in mind. Created by globetrotting Swedish-Brazilian kitesurfers Natalia and Jimmy, every detail was inspired by their own travels.

What we love about Casana

  • Generously-sized bungalows (80-100m2), each with ocean-facing decks, loungers and hammocks.
  • The Master Suite, with its own private pool, jacuzzi and an indoor-outdoor bathroom.
  • The black-bottomed infinity pool, which catches the light and the sky throughout the day.
  • Menus are designed daily around the day’s catch and produce picked from Casana’s extensive gardens.
  • A dedicated kite lounge, with top-of-the-line equipment and expert guidance.
  • A thoughtful environmental approach, with solar energy, composting, a water well, and organic produce grown on site.
What to do at Casana

After breakfast overlooking the North Atlantic, stop by the kite lounge to get kitted up, then head onto the water.

Those learning the ropes can take morning lessons with Casana’s exceptionally well-trained guides. The wind conditions here are ideal for kiting – steady gusts of 20-30 knots, side-on orientation for safe navigation, and 20km of uninterrupted beach and bay draw kitesurf lovers from around the world.

When the wind drops, drive out to the lagoons beyond Jericoacoara, cycle the back tracks behind the dunes, or saddle up for a ride along the shoreline with a local guide. Back at Casana, unwind with a caipirinha overlooking the infinity pool, head to the spa for a treatment, or kick back in the privacy of your bungalow, surrounded by soft sands and swaying palms.
