Casa Gangotena

WELCOME TO CASA GANGOTENA

Experience unparalleled elegance and luxury in this restored 1920s colonial mansion in the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Quito’s old town.

Casa Gangotena is Quito’s grand dame, standing sentinel over San Francisco Plaza. Formerly the residence of several Republican-era presidents, the prominent Gangotena family embarked on an ambitious renovation to transform it into one of the best luxury hotels in Ecuador.

Its ornate interiors, from frescoed ceilings to Art Nouveau flourishes, speak to a time when craftsmanship was king. Step onto the rooftop terrace and the city unfurls before you: domed churches, tiled rooftops, and the mountains that surround the city.

  • The decoration of Casa Gangotena’s rooms with plush carpets, towering window frames, flowing curtains, and Art Deco furniture.
  • The Plaza View rooms (on the first and second floors of the the mansion’s northern facade) with their stunning views of the historic centre and sophisticated décor.
