A LUXURY HOLIDAY TO FERNANDO DE NORONHA

Fernando de Noronha lies far off Brazil’s northeast coast – a chain of volcanic islands that are wild, remote, and fiercely protected.

The archipelago draws travellers for its marine life and relative seclusion, with days spent diving with turtles, snorkelling in lagoons of crystalline clarity, and watching the sun set from the island’s western bluffs. As a UNESCO World Heritage Site, strict conservation rules and limited visitor numbers have kept development firmly in check.

We know the most remarkable ways to experience this untamed corner of the Atlantic, from its family-run pousadas and beachfront villas, to its most knowledgeable dive operators and private skippers.

WHAT TO SEE & DO IN FERNANDO DE NORONHA

The protected waters around Noronha are home to some of the richest marine biodiversity in the world.

Explore Baía do Sancho, regularly voted the world’s finest beach and reached by a ladder through the cliffs, or snorkel at Baía dos Porcos beneath the dark spires of Morro Dois Irmãos.

Head out by private boat to spot pods of spinner dolphins, or dive among coral gardens and shipwrecks. On land, follow trails across volcanic hills and along the island’s rugged coastline, pausing for swims in natural rock pools. Evenings are best spent barefoot, feasting on freshly-caught fish and watching the stars appear over the Atlantic.
