Vision of Norwegian entrepreneurs Alexander and Carrie Vik, VIK Chile is a bold, brilliantly original project in a gorgeous corner of Chile’s wine land. Located in Millahue, just two hours south of Santiago, the VIK Chile estate features a winery and a 29-suite avant-garde hotel. Both are triumphs of art, design and architecture.

A visit to the VIK Chile winery is a must. Ecologically sound and architecturally inspiring, Chilean architect Smiljan Radic followed the nordic precision which characterises Vik’s three other hotels in Uruguay. At the entrance to the winery, the vast reflection pool strewn with boulders was conceived by Radic’s wife, Marcela Correa, and has become synonymous with the winery.
The food is out of this world. Menus are fresh and varied, meaning you can stay 4 or 5 nights without repeating a dish (though some of them certainly merit it).
Between tastings led by international wine experts and horse rides through the estate, guests are invited to cool off in the striking cantilevered pool overlooking the vines or enjoy vinotherapy treatments in the holistic spa before heading down the valley to enjoy a barbecue under the stars.
VIK Chile is located in the Millahue Valley, a two hour drive from Santiago. A helicopter from Santiago takes just 40 minutes.
There are direct flights from London to Santiago.
VIK Chile can be visited year round. The warmest and most pleasant months are between October and April.
