Viña Vik

Viña VIK

Vision of Norwegian entrepreneurs Alexander and Carrie, Viña VIK is a bold, brilliantly original project in a gorgeous corner of Chile’s wine land.

Located in Millahue, just two hours south of Santiago, the VIK Chile estate features a winery and a 29-suite avant-garde hotel. Both are triumphs of art, design and architecture..

What we love about Viña VIK

  • The architecture and art – the build was entrusted to Uruguayan architect Marcelo Daglio and, for the interiors, 22 leading lights of the contemporary art world were drafted in
  • The views – the hotel perches on a hilltop above a lake at the centre of a spectacular 11,000-acre vineyard, with breathtaking views of the Andes Mountains
  • The 29 suites, each designed by a different artists, and each totally distinct from the next
  • The bathrooms – nobody does bathrooms like VIK. In the Vicky Money suite, every wall, sink and bathtub is covered entirely in copper coins
What to do at Viña VIK

At the entrance to the winery, the vast reflection pool strewn with boulders was conceived by Radic’s wife, Marcela Correa, and has become synonymous with the winery.

A visit to the VIK Chile winery is a must. Ecologically sound and architecturally inspiring, Chilean architect Smiljan Radic followed the nordic precision which characterises Vik’s three other hotels in Uruguay.

The food is out of this world. Menus are fresh and varied, meaning you can stay 4 or 5 nights without repeating a dish (though some of them certainly merit it).

Between tastings led by international wine experts and horse rides through the estate, guests are invited to cool off in the striking cantilevered pool overlooking the vines or enjoy vinotherapy treatments in the holistic spa before heading down the valley to enjoy a barbecue under the stars.
