There’s plenty on offer within LUZ’s private estate. Stroll along trails, winding through pine forest, practice yoga by the laguna or treat yourself to a personalised spa treatment. If you’re looking for something more active, there’s go-karting, tennis and mountain biking.
Food is a highlight! Start your day with a picnic breakfast amongst the olives groves. For lunch, graze on organic salad and fresh fish by the pool. Then end the day, dining amidst the pine trees at UNA’s pop single-table restaurant. Of course, washing everything down with a glass of LUZ’s very own rosé or red wine.
It may be hard to drag yourself out of LUZ’s grounds, but it’s definitely worth it. Head to the Atlantic coast for exceptional beaches, a buzzing gastronomic scene and water activities such as surfing and kitesurfing.
Or venture inland to explore the rolling Uruguayan countryside. Visit the state-of-art winery, Bodega Garzon, ride with a gaucho through the hills or head to the laguna for windsurfing. Make sure not to miss Restaurant Garzon owned by world-renowned chef, Francis Mallmann.
LUZ Culinary Wine Lodge is located 10 minutes outside of José Ignacio, a laid-back yet sophisticated fishing village along Uruguay’s pristine coastline.
The international airport in Punta del Este is a 55 minute drive from LUZ and Montevideo’s International Airport is just under 2 hours away.
It’s also possible to arrive at the lodge via helicopter.
The best time to visit LUZ is during their summer, which falls between November and April.
