Anacardier isn’t trying to be clever. It leans into its setting with low, understated buildings, breezy spaces and just the right dose of polish. Rooted in the raw beauty of Atins, on the edge of Brazil’s Lençóis Maranhenses, sun, wind, stillness, and salt are all welcome here.
The suites are unfussy but indulgent, built for long naps and slow mornings. Staff are relaxed but tuned-in. There’s a rhythm to this place: less hotel, more hideout, and it suits Atins perfectly. What to do at Anacardier
This is where the desert meets the sea and the pace is entirely your own.
Wander straight from your suite into Lençóis Maranhenses National Park, where miles of pale sand and seasonal lagoons create one of Brazil’s most surreal landscapes. Go by foot, horseback, or quad bike, if you’re in the mood for speed and sand. For something slower, drift down the Preguiças River by boat, spotting mangroves, small villages and wildlife as you go. Back in Atins, there’s regional food to discover, local crafts to admire, and a community that pulls you gently into its orbit. At Anacardier, you can plan every hour or none at all. The landscape does the work either way.
When to Travel
June to September
The best time to visit Anacardier Privé and the Lençóis Maranhenses is from June to September when the lagoons between the dunes are at their fullest after the rainy season, creating the surreal, mirror-like pools the park is known for. Expect warm days around 28–32°C, cooler evenings, and plenty of sun. From October to December, the lagoons begin to dry, but the landscape is still striking.
