Accessible only by boat, Villa Bom Jardim is a private house enveloped in the lush Atlantic rainforest of Brazil’s Costa Verde.

 

This colonial-style beach house has seven suites and generous living and dining areas, set among extensive botanical gardens bursting with over 5,000 jussara palm, lychee and passion fruit trees, just steps from the sand.

It is reached by a 15 minute zip by boat along the coast from Paraty.

WHAT TO DO AT VILLA BOM JARDIM

While the hours away exploring Villa Bom’s impressive botanic gardens, or wander down to the sandy beach.

Spend days out on the water kayaking and stand-up paddle boarding, or hike from the Villa to Tapera’s Fort, where three impressive colonial-era cannons point out to sea. The eco-friendly sauna is perfect for winding down, and each day you’ll enjoy delicious meals from the in-house chef.

If you wish to explore further afield, daily return trips are included to the immaculately preserved Portuguese colonial town of Paraty.

Villa Bom Jardim is accessible only by boat. It’s a 15 minute journey across the sea from Paraty.

When to Travel

It is warm throughout the year in Paraty, with the hottest period in the summer between November-February. As well as plenty of sunshine, during this season you can expect some tropical rainfall and higher humidity.

March-May or September-November offer sunny conditions with less rain, while the winter months of June-August have the coolest temperatures. Paraty is busiest during the build up to carnival in February-March.
