Wake up to glistening views across the white desert and appreciate the silence.
While you could spend a lazy day enjoying your dome’s privacy, Pristine offers excursions that’ll take you beyond the salt flats to discover the area’s rich culture, history as well as its natural beauty.
Travel north along the Humahuaca Gorge, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one-time Inca trade route; tour the charming towns of Maimara, Uquia, Humahuaca and Tilcara to learn about the indigenous history of the region; or trek through the impressive clay ravines of Barrancas and observe Pre-Hispanic cave paintings and rock art.
Back at camp, witness magical sunsets before falling asleep under one of the clearest skies in the world.
Pristine Salinas Grandes Camp is located within the province of Jujuy in the extreme northwest corner of Argentina. The luxury camp sits on the edge of the Salinas Grandes, a white desert of more than 200 kilometres and more than 3,000 m above sea level.
The closest airport, Gobernador Horacio Guzman Airport, is 2 hours and 30 mins by car from the meeting point, Tres Morros. From here, guests are met by a community guide and transferred 20-30 mins to the camp.
While Pristine Camps is open all year, there are two distinct seasons, offering two very different experiences of the Salinas Grandes.
From December through March, the temperatures rise, as does the chance of precipitation, which creates a mesmerising mirror effect on the salt flats.
Alternatively, during the dry season (April to November), you can appreciate the immensity of the salt desert and the geometric figures formed by the salt.
