A window onto Patagonia’s soul set in the wild steppe between El Calafate and the Perito Moreno Glacier, EOLO is as much a feeling as a destination.
Tucked into a 10,000-acre private reserve, EOLO was built to reflect the spirit of the first Patagonian estancias: pared-back, quietly elegant, and deeply connected to the land. With just 17 rooms and panoramic views in every direction, it’s a lodge that favours stillness and space over spectacle.
Guests arrive to silence, big skies, and wide horizons. From every room, the views across the steppe, The Andes Mountains, Torres del Paine, and Lake Argentino are spectacular. EOLO is not just a base for the glacier. It’s where you begin to feel the weight and wonder of Patagonia itself.
What we love about Eolo Lodge
-
A 17-room Relais & Châteaux lodge thoughtfully modelled on traditional Patagonian estancias with wide verandas and endless views.
-
Located midway between El Calafate and Perito Moreno guests get a head start into the national park before the crowds arrive.
-
Chef Juan Pablo Bonaveri’s seasonal menus are rooted in regional produce and lifted with international flair.
-
The sheltered central patio means you can sit outdoors even when the wind picks up (a rare luxury in these parts).
-
Interiors are pared-back by design, so the real show, the ever-changing Patagonian light, takes centre stage.

A stay at EOLO Lodge gives you a true sense of freedom.
Spend one day exploring the breathtaking, exclusive landscapes surrounding EOLO. Hike through forests up to Cerro Frías viewpoint to admire endless views across the steppe. Cycle through the La Anita Valley or ride alongside a Patagonian Gaucho to the nearby Flamingo Lagoon.
The rest of your days at EOLO are for discovering the wonders of Los Glaciares National Park. Visit the magnificent Perito Moreno glacier, where you can trek with crampons across the ice or kayak near to the glacier’s front wall. Punta Bandera has an abundance of stunning landscapes. Cruise across Lake Argentino towards Upsala Glacier, navigating icebergs. Hike through Fossils Canyon, where you’ll see sea fossils uncovered by glacial action, or towards the hanging glaciers of Cerro Mayo and Cerro Negro.
At the end of the day, return to the comfort and peace of the lodge. Recharge with a massage or putting your legs up and admiring the views with a glass of Argentine wine.

EOLO hotel is conveniently located halfway between El Calafate and Los Glaciares National Park.
The hotel is a 50-minute drive from El Calafate airport. There are direct, domestic flights to El Calafate from Buenos Aires (3 hours) and Bariloche (1 hour 45 mins).
The 17-room Relais & Châteaux lodge has been inspired by ancient Patagonian ranches. There’s a library, indoor swimming pool, wine cellar and tasting room, outdoor jacuzzi and sauna

When to Travel
Every season offers a different Patagonian experience.
During October and November, the trees and bushes of the Andean steppe and forest bloom and the birds return to begin building their nests. In summer (December – February), the wind is intense but the days are longer and warmer. During autumn (March and April), the forest that covers the mountains turns red. Autumn days are shorter but the wind is milder, the skies are blue and the nights are full of stars.
EOLO lodge closes between May and September.
