Casona Roma

ROMA NORTE, MEXICO CITY

WELCOME TO CASONA ROMA

Tucked behind a quiet façade, Casona Roma sits comfortably at the intersection of Mexico City’s creative energy and its slower  pace.

Inside, the atmosphere leans minimalist. Clean lines, soft light, thoughtful details. But the mood is warm, thanks to a focus on comfort and service.

The hotel’s open spaces are made for gathering: long dinners, low-key celebrations, and pauses between museum visits. Steps from galleries, cafés, and leafy plazas, it’s a reliable base in one of Mexico City’s most culturally layered neighbourhoods.

What we love about Casona Roma

  • Its location in Roma Norte, one of Mexico City’s most walkable and character-filled neighbourhoods.
  • A calm, well-edited interior, with 32 minimalist rooms, simply designed without feeling cold.
  • A wellness menu focused on recovery and reset, plus a gym with personal trainer access.
  • Two on-site restaurants and three bars/lounges, including a popular all-day restaurant serving elevated Mexican comfort food, an agave-tasting lounge, and a Japanese-style tea room.
  • The leafy rooftop terrace, ideal for unwinding with a cold drink after a day of exploring.
  • A strong sense of local connection, without trying too hard to impress.

What to do at Cartesiano

Settle in, then let the neighbourhood lead. Casona Roma places you right in the middle of Mexico City’s creative core.

Step outside and within minutes you’ll be browsing independent galleries, sipping coffee in buzzy sidewalk cafés, or walking leafy streets lined with early 20th-century architecture. Spend mornings at Casona Roma exploring nearby La Condesa, or venture a little further to museums in Chapultepec or the city centre.

Back at the hotel, slow the pace with a treatment from the wellness menu, or a session in the gym with a personal trainer. Evenings are made for long dinners, either out at one of the city’s standout restaurants, or in-house with good wine and better company.

When to Travel

November to May

Mexico City is a year-round destination, but the best time to visit Casona Roma is during the dry season, from November to May, when days are sunny and mild with temperatures between 20–26°C. This is ideal for exploring Roma Norte on foot and making the most of the city’s outdoor dining and cultural scene. Summer months (June to September) bring short but frequent afternoon rains, which can be refreshing but occasionally disruptive. For fewer crowds and comfortable weather, January through March is pleasant.
