When you aren’t off-ship discovering the Antarctic wilderness, the open ship philosophy means that you are welcome to wander all areas of the ship from bow to stern. Join the crew on the bridge to learn more about the world of navigation by charts or speak to our engineers in the engine room about the dynamics of a ship like the Hanse.
Getting to Antarctica on Hanse Explorer is part of the experience. Most of the cruises depart from Ushuaia, Argentina, the southernmost city in the world. Known as the gateway to the Antarctic, from Ushuaia it takes two days to cross the Drake Passage before reaching the Antarctic Peninsula.
