- The house was built using registered sustainable hardwood and recycled boatwood and runs off a solar hot water system with eco-friendly waste treatment and agroforestry principles implemented in the garden.
- The staff at Casa Araçá Azul are hugely important. They are paid above minimum wage and are an integral part of the experience.
- In 2021, Casas Tropicalia launched the social project Viva Morere, offering free courses and training to over 100 young people in the community of Morere, with support from the Irish Embassy in Brazil. Guests can learn more about and support this impactful initiative during their stay.

What to do at Casa Araçá Azul
Mornings at Casa Araçá Azul are best started with a leisurely breakfast on the outdoor terrace, prepared by your housekeeper. Stroll to the pristine white shores just 100 metres away and while away the days sunbathing, swimming, or snorkeling amidst coral reefs.
Inside the house, immerse yourself in art and literature and cozy up with a good book in the evenings. The fully equipped kitchen and dining area also make the property ideal for shared meals and gatherings.
Venture beyond the property to discover the local community, with guided tours and shopping assistance available. The staff can help arrange transportation should you so wish.
Map & location
You can either take a ferry or an air taxi from Salvador International Airport to reach Casa Araçá Azul.
The air taxi lands on a particular landing strip on Tinharé Island. From here, it’s a short five-minute crossing to Velha, Boipeba. This is also where you’ll disembark the ferry. Casa Araçá Azul is a 15-minute taxi drive from the island’s centre.
Private transportation can be arranged on request.
When to Travel
The best time to visit Boipeba Island for pleasant weather is September to December. Avoid the rainy months from February to July if you want to make the most of the beach. Between Christmas and Carnival (early Feb) tends to be the busiest time.
