Casa Anderson

A sprawling, jungle getaway nestled among mango, acai and banana trees.

Casa Anderson is set along a meandering path that begins on Trancoso’s town square.

This rainforest retreat in the heart of the Bahia region of Brazil is spread out over four structures, each built by local craftsman.

What we love about Casa Anderson

  • Owned by Anderson Cooper, a lead anchor for CNN
  • The estate comprises four buildings: the living space, two bungalows and one two-storey treehouse
  • Wilbert Das, owner of nearby boutique hotel Uxua, designed the beautiful interiors
  • Casa Anderson’s front gate opexns onto the charming Quadrado
  • There are sunbeds, a bar and a shower inside a huge hollow pequi tree trunk
  • You can plunge into the 20-metre pool from the balcony
What to do at Casa Anderson

What makes Trancoso so compelling is its slow, laidback pace.

Stay in the villa making the most of its idyllic, tranquil setting. Read in a hammock under the shade of a palm tree, dip in the pool to cool off and lounge on the deck grazing on fresh fruits.

If you want to stretch your legs, step out the gates onto the bustling quadrado. Stop for a coffee at one of the cafes bordering the grassy square or follow the path down to the beach for a cocktail.

Casa Anderson is located in Trancoso, a tiny beach town in Brazil’s coastal state of Bahia.

The private villa is approximately an hour’s drive from Porto Seguro. There are direct flights to Porto Seguro from a number of locations within Brazil, including Rio de Janeiro, Salvador, and Sao Paulo.
