Set in the cloud forests (1600ms) of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, Casa Galavanta is a private house suitable for up to 8 guests (3 en-suite double rooms + 1 double with shared bathroom). The Casa Galavanta property comes fully staffed with housekeeping, a talented cook and local guide. Breakfasts of fresh fruit and scrambled eggs are served on the veranda with views over the jungle towards the Caribbean, some 20kms away.
Days are warm (high 20s) and are spent exploring fruit and coffee plantations, or walking to ancient ruins and little known waterfalls for delicious picnics. Evenings are cool enough for log fires, lanterns, board games and red wine (rare on the Caribbean coast). Walkers, birders and botanists will be particularly happy here: this part of Colombia has over 400 different species of bird and countless butterflies. We know of few more special (or undiscovered) places in South America.
