Nansen Explorer Antarctica

Nansen Explorer, Antarctica | Plan South America

Adventure | Antarctica | On The Water | Property

Nansen Explorer is a new concept for yachting. Conceived as a research vessel, she represents today a hybrid between a powerful commercial ship with the comforts and service of a luxury yacht. Originally built to carry 60 passengers, she now carries only 12 guests in 7 staterooms. With an Ice-1A classed, 72 meter long hull and an ice-experienced Captain and bridge team, Nansen Explorer can sail further, and penetrate deeper into ice, than other yachts.  An expansive heli-deck, complete with onboard refuelling capabilities, allows for deeper exploration.  Kayaks, SUPs, and two Mk V Zodiacs offer ample opportunities to explore on a more intimate scale. Inside, cabins are modern, spacious, and most with generous floor to ceiling windows.

What we love about the Nansen Explorer

Nansen Explorer’s lounge is comfortable and inviting, creating a friendly atmosphere for conversation at the end of a full day. Superb chefs offer mouthwatering meals. Down below, a large gym is available, and at the very top of the ship, the Bridge is always open if you want to chat with one of the Officers. Expedition capability is at this vessel’s core, with a handpicked crew and expedition team that thrives on operational capability and flexibility. Bridging the gap between rugged expedition vessel and luxury super yacht, Nansen Explorer is unlike anything else available for adventure seeking charterers or those looking to book a single cabin on a scheduled departure in the polar regions.

An expedition on the Nansen Explorer gives you unrivalled opportunities to immerse yourself in the White Continent. Slide down glaciers, explore ice-strewn waters on board a Zodiac and brave a freezing plunge in the world’s coldest seas. For the intrepid explorer, camp out overnight on the ice, scale black granite mountains, soar over azure lakes on a helicopter or explore under the water in a polar submarine.
