Team Building in the Amazon: A Six-Day Adventure, Specially Created for Plan South America Clients
Day 1: Starting your journey in the Brazilian city of Manaus, visit the famous Opera House (known as the Amazon theatre) and Manaus market, an incredible Renaissance building inspired by Les Halles in Paris – the history of this remote jungle city is extraordinary. To begin your Amazon education, we will arrange an evening lecture with our local guide. Discover the secrets of the greatest rainforest on earth; learn about how it was formed, its unique characteristics and which extraordinary creatures inhabit it.
Day 2:
From Manaus, step on board a private luxury yacht for a 5-day cruise, venturing deep into the rainforest.
Each day brings a new adventure, team-building challenges and the opportunity to learn useful skills. It’s a wonderful, sensory experience that appeals to all ages, and works particularly well for families in search of a completely different holiday experience that is above all, incredibly rewarding. On your first adventure in the rainforest, you will take a Jungle Survival Course, learning useful skills from members of the Brazilian Army’s deep forest battalion, such as how to find food and water, keep safe and build fires.
Days 3 and 4:
You will be welcomed into the riverside Tumbira community to learn about local life and work on important community projects in partnership with the NGO ‘Amazonia Sustentavel’. Carrying out varying tasks alongside the locals, you’ll be working to improve school infrastructure, working on the community’s local businesses website, upkeep of the Community Center and assisting in waste recycling and waste solutions. This offers a real insight into life in a remote community and provides a unique opportunity for cultural exchange.
Day 5:
We have an adventure challenge in store for you! Separated into teams with the local community, you’ll race traditional canoes along small Amazon River tributaries to source medicinal plants hidden in the forest. You’ll then compete in a handicraft competition, before celebrating in the evening with traditional food, music and dancing.
Day 6:
On your final day, we’ll take you to a special location to spot the rare pink dolphins, endemic to the Amazon River, before boarding a waterplane to fly over the legendary ‘meeting of the waters’ to see the black waters of the Rio Negro collide dramatically with the sandy waters of the Solimoes River.
