Set sail for either a four- or five-day cruise that blends downtime aboard the luxurious riverboat with guided activities.
Each day there’s plenty of opportunity to step off Delfin II and get up close to the Amazon’s breathtaking biodiversity. You can hike through the Amazon Natural Park, visit indigenous communities or kayak through secluded creeks. If you’re daring enough, there’s even the chance to jump into the river and swim with pink river dolphins!
Onboard, the wildlife encounters continue. From your glass-walled cabin or on the open-air deck with a pisco sour in hand, spot howler monkeys, sloths, iguanas, and caimans.
Located in Northern Peru and spanning more than 5,139,784 acres, the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve is Peru’s largest protected area and has some of the most biodiverse rainforests in the world.
Delfin II departs from a private port in Nauta, a small rivertown on the banks of Marañón River upriver from Iquitos.
Fly from Lima to Iquitos (there are direct daily flights) where you’ll be transferred to Nauta. On certain days of the week, Iquitos can also be reached directly from Cusco.
The weather in the Peruvian Amazon is hot and humid.
The “High Water” season is between December and May. During these months, there’s less hiking but more areas can be accessed by boat.
During the “Low Water” season, between June and November, more hiking can take place. You are more likely to see migratory birds flying over the jungle.
