COSTA RICA | COVID-19 UPDATE

We have put together a set of questions and answers which we hope will give you confidence when travelling to Costa Rica.

 

Are the borders open? If so, what are the entry requirements?

Yes, Costa Rica’s borders are open. All foreign visitors must complete an epidemiological survey and have taken out local medical insurance. We recommend Sagicor Seguros. No PCR tests are required for entry.

 

Where will I need to wear a mask? Will I be provided with one in case I forget mine?

Masks are required at all indoor settings except whilst eating, if alone, or in a private residence. We will provide spare masks on tours and during transfers.

 

What protocols do hotels have to follow to keep us safe?

All hotels have to follow a set of protocols laid out by the Health Ministry

 

Are restaurants open? Shops? Nightclubs? What are the protocols they have to follow?

Restaurants and shops are open. Masks are required and individuals should make every effort to maintain social distancing.

 

Is there any sort of curfew?

No.

 

Will vehicles be regularly disinfected? Will I have to wear a mask during transfers?

Vehicles will be disinfected each time they are used. You must wear a face mask during transfers.

 

Will I be tested for Covid throughout my trip? Will my guides be regularly tested?

You will not be tested throughout your trip, but we can arrange this if required. Our guides are not regularly tested, but are required to wear masks.

 

What will happen if I test positive whilst on the trip? Where will I have to stay?

You will need to quarantine in your hotel for 14 days.
